The deadline is actually some ~12 hours away seing as we are following KVR forum time and more specifically, Tattie's waking up time..

The deadline is technically set to 0900 GMT, but don't expect a professional musician to get up that early..

(he is in the GMT time zone)

OK, mine's in - started it on Friday and managed to get it done. Apologies for the naff improvised riff, I couldn't resist what with my new Edirol and all.

Well, after endless fiddling with Oatmeal and a track that really went nowhere with lacking mojo, I loaded up a large number of Synth1 instances, found some presets and things started to move fast, especially with the deadline looming.

Synth1 is just an amazing synth, I love it more and more. 35 instances + 3 Drumatic + effects and CPU load is around 20-25% without any spikes. Amazing. No crashes, no crackles, no fuss. Just great sound and range. And to have the effects on board without loading the CPU much, together with all controls right there on a window size of choice is just great. Some complain about the GUI, but I'm going away from the hardware look and prefer Synth1 or Zebra type stuff now. It's so easy to see.

In the end most of the presets were tweaked, and honestly I could almost have done without Drumatic. I know FX were free this time, so really would have liked to added some crazy stuff like glitch or tapestop details, but ran out of time. Anyway:
