Very interrested to know who is using what to control Diva (if at all).

I really miss good control over any synth plugin Ihave. Including Diva. I have a Novation Zero SLMkII with Automap Pro. Managed to make a perfectly fine (10 page!) control layout in Automap for Diva, using the Zero SL.

But I STILL find myself finding it too much hassle to use (flipping through pages etc) and end up using the mouse annyways... :(

I have never used a hardware synth, but I totally get the hands on control experience and it is something i miss very much.

For FX plugins and simple synth plugins, a controller like the Zero SL is fine and quik enough to use. But for a sytn with as many controlls as Diva it just does not work for me.

I prefer using a good VA synth as controller. You can pick up a Novation X-Station for cheap. The build and action quality is really good. I have the 49-key and wish it were the 61-key.

Here's a graphic of the controls. There's a software editor and you can save templates.

A synth with even more labeled knobs and sliders would be better. You'll never find enough. But there are enough on the X-Station to get adequate control for most people I'd say. The thing is, they're all labeled with specific functions, and the ones with multiple functions show those extra functions and have a dedicated button with lights for the sequence of function choices. Once you get into these menus you're screwed of course. We need controllers, and synths, with lots of controls and no menus. Arturia is going in this direction with the Spark drum machine and it is an absolute joy to use, with the software editor an exact copy of the hardware, plus extra depth.

I believe the time has come for dedicated controllers without menus. Lots of sliders especially, to sync with the touch-surface monitor when you just want to edit in the box

I'd say something like an Arp Odyssey (add joystick and touch pad) is ripe for prime-time. Lots of sliders for Windows 8! :hihi:

I have been looking into an Xstation as well, but still not enough controls. I don't want just control over ADSR and Filter section.

In theory, I would like to be able to do the whole sound design in Diva through a midi controller.

You could check out this thing: http://www.thomann.de/de/behringer_bcr_2000.htm. Unlikely you'll ever run out of knobs with that one. :)

That's only 32 knobs, barely more than the X-Station, has no sliders, no labels.

Diva is too complicated to control it all with a dedicated controller imo.

I still say what's needed is a great U-He synth with a single interface, NO menus or patch cords, just LOTS of switches and sliders. A dedicated controller for that would not only rock the world, but would rock touch surfaces too. When you load up the VA, the controller would just work, every time, no fiddling at all. Just like a "real" synth. Hello!

I kind of agree. A custom made DIVA controller would actually be really welcome! As long as the price is not too bad.
