A dll that behaves in such a way that it deletes files, wouldn't such files be weeded out by anti virus programmes.
Because that is how viruses work right, doing things like deleting stuff.

Ok guys please stop this - i also don't like the idea my files to be deleted but who cares anyway- if you wanna use pirate soft nothing can stop you - my point is that Firebird as Synthesizer is really nice and capable of studio quality and also is very mixable (highly recommend it)with other high quality synths -if you explore it's temper and possibilities you will definitely gonna love it :)Cheers:)

The fact that you copy paste the info text from a warezed copy, and that you trust in the credibility of cracker groups speaks for itself. I mean, what's next? You're gonna quote from a warez forum about what evils audio app companies do with their freeware? Crackers, and equally antisocial f***ers have no credibility. If you're really interested in what Freebird does, contact the dev, and ask him what it does. I doubt he wouldn't provide info about it, if asked.scintillator wrote:Hi bluedad! From a certain nfo file:This is a freeware but it has MANY file deletion functions in the ▒▓█ █▓▒ binary, which kills pirated license keys. Our cracked release does ▒▓█ █▓▒ not affect your other Tone2 products, and does not include a demo ▒▓█ █▓▒ version of the Saurus synthesizer. Just install and enjoy.

Nice try. Theo's second to only Kriminal in times being banned.scintillator wrote: Hi bluedad! How's moderation going? Saved TheoM's ass today? AGAIN? You special, special guys, you!![]()

Tone 2 must be the DEVILS friend.
You don't like it then leave it alone. No need for the sackcloth and ashes bit. Sheeesh.

Given the context this has to be a rhetorical question.Kriminal wrote:OK....so does the .dll ask permission before deleting files?
DLL: "Ive found a license that was openly shared on the internet. Would you like me to delete it?"
User: "No, its alright, you must be mistaken. Just leave the file where it is."
DLL: "Alrighty then. Just thought id ask. Never mind, and have fun using FireBird."
Unlikely scenario...
Definitely not.Numanoid wrote:A dll that behaves in such a way that it deletes files, wouldn't such files be weeded out by anti virus programmes.
After all many applications create, alter and delete files without user interaction, one common example would be temp files.
Or you could do what i did and simply check it yourself.chk071 wrote:If you're really interested in what Freebird does, contact the dev, and ask him what it does.
Yes, it requires to actually do something, but its better than the eternal speculating that doesnt lead anywhere except nowhere.
(Just saying, you know.)

I think we can all agree that Tone2 faked the moon landing and move on.
Or am I getting my threads mixed up?

I doubt the haters are interested to do either. So much more fun to invade threads with their irrelevant opinions. Admittedly, i'm sure 99% of the people, me included, wouldn't even know how to do something like that. Or draw the right conclusion. Actually, i have yet to see a installer which does NOT alter files on the users harddrive. At the very least, it will write stuff to the registry, or alter the default VSTPath.ENV1 wrote:Or you could do what i did and simply check it yourself.chk071 wrote:If you're really interested in what Freebird does, contact the dev, and ask him what it does.

In the end, i don't get the excitement anyway, you won't be affected if you don't have any cracked Tone2 software installed, so the actually case scenario is so uninteresting that i have no idea why people even feel the need to point this out in every single Tone2 thread, twist around the culprit - victim scheme, and even point to cracker groups for "trustworthy information". It's really weird. Well maybe there are more warez users among the KVR people than you might think.

Well, in my opinion it never hurts to clear controversial stuff up.
But i agree that once this has been done, rehashing the subject on every occasion is quite pointless.
After all, what is known, is known.

No software is 100% perfect, mistakes can be made....ENV1 wrote:Given the context this has to be a rhetorical question.Kriminal wrote:OK....so does the .dll ask permission before deleting files?

Don't care what anyone says... Firebird is a great free Synth. Too bad it's not 64 bit. Regardless of the installer, its one of the best free Synths available.

I wrote ''BEST'' not ''One of the best'' ,because it can be used successfully in any professional studio production if they have right patches ,BUT it seems these days if you don't make EDM you are not interesting - seriously i know guys calling themselves ''DJ'' which makes ''music'' with no idea what is the difference between major and minor ,chord and harmony and even sell songs haha (no offence the ones that know itSaukar30 wrote:Don't care what anyone says...
