i'm pretty sure that sony has nothing related to acid left.
my feeling is that magix will 'gut' it and incorporate it into their 'music studio' app...
soundforge is now in samplitude.
as is melodyne. so there is nothing there that acid can do better.
sony screwed up acid with one of the worse midi implementations possible...imo

Agreed. We will never forgive you, Gibson.

Also for not letting other companies - mine included - continue working on the Opcode Music Standard (OMS), which led to huge problems for Apple software development around the year 2000.
It was Opcode MIDI System, later renamed Open Music System. I remember Doug Wyatt itself (the main programmer of OMS) leading a movement to ask Gibson to open source OMS - without success.

Up to this day I don't understando why Gibson didn't sold SVP or open source it, and why didn't they did the same with OMS.

Well... Yes, they did, and I was fearing that SONAR would have the same destiny.

But, contrary to what I feared, things seem to me working OK with the Cakewalk take over by Gibson. Maybe they learned with the past

It was always cross-platform. I don't know what he's talking about.

I really like Audition, used it for many many years, but discontinued the CC subscription this week. Just too expensive when RX and Reaper will give me enough.

Adobe too (all their applications) have been cross-platform for ages. Which planet did you came from?

Notator SL on my old Atari 1040STe (a mighty 4 MB!) - I got a copy of this when I bought the first version of Logic and wound up using Notator more. I'd been used to programming drum machines, so to be able to do my songs in sections, and then cut and paste parts into complete songs did wonders for my workflow.

I love Cubase Pro 9 running on my Hackintosh, but it's just slower workflow.....

I'm sure it has been mentioned before, but Sonicbytes's Phrazor was shaping-up to be an incredible piece of software. I still use it.
