Same here. Been interested for some time but wasn't sure Plogue were still active.

I guess we are just too busy to post statuses :)

Thanks David for all you are doing :)

Wish I could be excited for this year's BF sale, but I already own everything you guys make :)

Hopefully TX81Z will be out soon. That along side of OPS7 is my sonic fantasy

Great news. Can't wait for csFC (and whatever more your developing) 😊

Sorry I'm not in the loop about this one, but what is csFC anyway?

I'm ready for the TX81z, but I suspect FC is coming next.

I think it's great that the've ported everything to Linux. :tu:

I'm confused tho, isn't chipsynth SFC already covering Famicom?

That's the Snes / Super Famicom. csFC is for the original 8-bit nes.

Not at all, completely different chips. As far as I can tell the SNES was mostly sample based while the NES had the iconic two pulse wave channels, one crunchy triangle, and the idiosyncratic noise channel, along with some very limited sample playback capabilities.

My bad!

There's an interesting kontakt library (https://renegadesoundplay.com/products/high-score) that does nes. It has a randomizer and some waveforms not available in the original nes (I think) and you can draw your own waveform, arp and more.. I hope Plogue is surpassing this with their "magic" though, but maybe it could be used as inspiration :)

The sample playback on those Ricoh 2A03 chips was pretty interesting in that it could do 1 bit DPCM. It wasn't used much but certain games like Super Mario Bros 3 used it for drums

Looking forward to messing around with that in the upcoming Plogue version

Sure is. Note that FC is way more than just NES audio. In a way its kind of a meta chip product as it includes all the main Japanese audio addon chips that were used by some developers back in the day. So on top of more pulse/square variants you also have some quite unique digital wavetables and even some FM in there too. All that needs time to get absolutely right.
