Just uninstall codemeter! You might need to login once after that, but sure it's not every time you use Reason.Calagan wrote: Thu May 04, 2023 4:18 am How do we get rid of codemeter now ? And does it matter ?
I don’t like to have unuseful program in my computer, and I would be so glad removing this horrible system and never see it again (I had some issues with it) but maybe it’s not a big deal.
Reason 12 is here

That's already long enough mate. I politely disagree but your reasoning is good and there is nothing wrong about it.kidslow wrote: Thu May 04, 2023 1:15 am I'm not going to try and justify my position beyond what follows, ............
Thank you for taking the time to explain.

No, I don’t think they spent long enough on the reply to include disrespect, it was a very rote response.

This makes complete sense. I mean I’ve got a ton of feature requests I’ve been asking about for the better part of 20 years, but I’ve never felt “disrespected” just because they never materialized. But I’m not thin skinned and never take things personal. I’m not that important.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Thu May 04, 2023 7:36 amNo, I don’t think they spent long enough on the reply to include disrespect, it was a very rote response.

Looks like Reason update to Mac silicon is half baked… Reason Companion app is still intel only

Yes it does...Fleer wrote: Thu May 04, 2023 12:35 pm Companion is showing ‘(Apple/Intel)’ behind every RE. Does this indeed mean Apple Silicon?

The Authorizer app (for full Reason 12) also shows that information, but the app itself appears to be still Intel based

What I am doing is loading the RRP in Bitwig, I have Bitwig Plugin Host appearing in the activity monitor. His kind is identified as Apple by the Activity Monitor.aMUSEd wrote: Thu May 04, 2023 1:12 pmThe Authorizer app (for full Reason 12) also shows that information, but the app itself appears to be still Intel based
I tried to load a few RE and it stays Apple...
Do you have in mind a RE that is behaving differently?

No all my REs are Universal now, but the Authorizer app is not, yetJac459 wrote: Thu May 04, 2023 1:19 pmWhat I am doing is loading the RRP in Bitwig, I have Bitwig Plugin Host appearing in the activity monitor. Yeah, I read on Reddit that they were going to address that today.aMUSEd wrote: Thu May 04, 2023 1:12 pmThe Authorizer app (for full Reason 12) also shows that information, but the app itself appears to be still Intel based

I wouldn't say half-baked. Maybe 99% baked - and that's only if you include Companion as being part of Reason (it's not, really). Reason (and RE's) itself being Mac silicon is the important part. Companion is so inconsequential when it comes to resources, it doesn't matter IMHO.Atlatnesiti wrote: Thu May 04, 2023 11:52 am Looks like Reason update to Mac silicon is half baked… Reason Companion app is still intel only![]()
Address as in - make Companion true Mac silicon?Fleer wrote: Thu May 04, 2023 1:34 pm Yeah, I read on Reddit that they were going to address that today.

That’s a weird one… after the update Companion app prompted me to update several plugins to AS but app itself is intel only… go and figure, bug perhaps..?aMUSEd wrote: Thu May 04, 2023 1:12 pmThe Authorizer app (for full Reason 12) also shows that information, but the app itself appears to be still Intel based
Disabled starting up Companion app with Reason for time being…

The Authorizer is just a tool, an utility you run once just in order to grant your RE authorisations.Atlatnesiti wrote: Thu May 04, 2023 1:39 pm That’s a weird one… after the update Companion app prompted me to update several plugins to AS but app itself is intel only… go and figure, bug perhaps..?

It doesn't affect at all the performance of Reason 12 and your Rack Extensions...
So basically, except if I am missing something, I think really you shouldn't care at all of it not being apple silicon.
From my experience, Authorizers often run with funky encryption libraries, using other math libraries that can be CPU dependant and then not that easy to migrate (if the library has not been migrated).
That can explain why they left it like that.... Knowing that again there is no impact at all for us.
