groove agent glitching out

i did a search and i don't think this has been covered, but sorry if it has been...

i'm using groove agent 1.0 with tracktion. had it working fine on a song, and then yesterday when i opened up the song, groove agent just glitched out. the cpu meter goes into the red when i hit play, i get a couple clicks and pops, and that's it. this all disappears if i just remove groove agent. i've been able to get it to work sporidically by rescanning the plugins, restarting the program, restarting the computer, etc., but it soon glitches out again. also tried loading it in chainer and in a rack, but no luck. the weird things is, it only glitches out in this one song. if i start a new project, i can use it, no problem. i know it's not a cpu problem since this project barely uses 25% of my resources without ga, and i've tried numerous different settings in the plugin... different kits, ambience, limiter, everything in the edit panel. anyone else have this experience? i'll probably just resort to exporting the midi and reassembling the project on a friend's computer with sonar, which i'd really not do since i like tracktion more for this kind of thing.
