Here's what I do;
1.Put Rewire filter in track
2.press the choose device button and choose Live
3. press "launch editor" but nothing happens, so...
4. I launch Live from windows start menu.
5. Live opens as a rewire slave
6. The problem is there are no choices for the "input channel for midi" so Live does not see any midi from the host(Tracktion)
I can play instruments or trigger loops in the Live slave using the QWERTY keyboard or if I disable my USB midi keyboard input to Tracktion, I can then select it as a track input in Live. But Live does not see midi coming from the host via a tracktion midi input or a midi clip being played.
I installed Live first , then Tracktion, and opted to keep the Rewire dll from Live.
Has anyone gotten this to work properly???

Live doesn't support Midi in rewire slave mode, just audio.

Do midi in Tracktion and use Live for it's timestretch.stoney wrote:Ok.Thanks. I guess that explains it. But it seems of little use to me without midi input.

Have you tried using Midipipe? I believe there are other utilities too. The idea being a midi router between all your apps.
I've downloaded it but haven't tried it yet.

You'd have to use Soundflower of something then to route audio then, if you wanted to btpass Rewire. And this is assuming he's on a Mac. MidiYoke does the midi half in Windows, but I'm not sure what does audio.james wrote:Have you tried using Midipipe? I believe there are other utilities too. Seriously, if I were him I'd just use T2 for midi and VSTis, or render all his synth parts to audio before rewiring.
