DK+ Drum Maps (updated): GSCW, Tchakpoum, the' Riders'

Hi DK+ users,

Go to http://thedkplus.dashsignature.com to get maps for GSCW Drumkit 1 and 2, Easyrider, Ruffrider and Tchakpoum.

some notes about my maps:
-velocity setting are currently fairly arbitrary. This will be updated if necessary, as I use the kits in more song contexts and tweak accordingly.

-None of my maps have panning, and all drumpads are sent to output 1/2 with no compression. This is purely a personal preference for my composition style. I prefer to do these tweaks on a per song basis depending on other instrumentation.

My favourite Bassdrums and snares. Has extra overhead samples which I have set up at zero volume, so the user can mix them accordingly to add room ambience.

Which kit are you referring to? There's two on the site - one is 24bit the other is 16bit. Is the Lite/Full reference to the kit something to do with the maps you've done?

I am referencing the 24bit kit. I never downloaded the 16 bit kit because I understand from reading there that it is the same kit (it says the LM4 maps are good for both kits).

regarding the Tchakpoum Kit 'Lite'- it just means that I have only mapped one velocity layer per pad, I just did this to make a low memory version, as the kit is around 90mb. I figured it may be useful for some people to just have a lighter load on their RAM. The next map I put up will be the full Tchakpoum, with exactly the same pad assignments, but with full velocity layers.

If anyone has downloaded the Tchakpoum kit yet, first, remember to take all the wave files out of their individual folders and into one folder in your dk+ library, and second, do remember to try mixing in the room ambience to taste- the drum pads in the bottom row, from right to left, as the room mics for the BD, snare, etc.

Firstly, thank you for your time in putting these kits together. I'm sure that DK+ users really appreciate this.

I downloaded and extracted the 24bit kits into a folder but is it me or is there something screwy with the Crash 1 Ovh 2 file. It sounds out of wack compared to the others.

I haven't used that file in Tchakpoum Lite. When I map tchakpoum full, if I find it to be faulty, I won't use it.

pw, I just want to add my thanks... I've just loaded up the full Tchakpoum bank and it sounds very nice indeed. Thanks for sharing this. I should also thank the guy who made the samples available in the first place.. dunno if he inhabits KVR?
