I am using Traction with cameleon 5000 to record a synth. When I begin I select the instrument I want and it records in the correct way. When I play it back, however, the synth has reverted back to the default instrument setting on Cameleon 5000. I have tried saving the edit but it seems to make no difference. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

There is probably a program change that some how got recorded. Select the midi clip, and there is a button in the properties area allowing you to delete all program changes. I'm not in front of tracktion right now so I can't tell you the exact name of it.

I posted about the same problem a while back and it was suggested to click on the midi-clip (to select it) then choose 'Insert Program Change' then choose 'Remove all Program-Change Messages From This Clip'
However I then find that, for example, if I want the Carribean patch from the Chromatics Bank (which is the 9th patch in that bank), next time I load it up I'll get the 9th patch from some other bank.
I think Cameleon 5k is excellent, but because of this severe limitation I rarely use it anymore.

There is also another reason why this happens, though more rare that a program change. If you return to the beginning of the clip by pressing "home" on the keyboard, some vsts will see that as a command to go to the first preset. I don't know if that applies to Cameleon.
