I like the guitar, don't like the drums. I think the pacing of the song could have been more drawn out, it seemed rushed. The voval parts should have been slightly slower IMO.
But it is interesting and I did listen to the whole thing, which says something. I grew up on early Cure and it kind of reminded me of Faith/17 Seconds Cure with a whacked drum machine (I don't care for the timbre or the programming frankly, but probably just my personal taste, not your composition).
All around good work though.

Hey ron..I dig the music...!
I wont give any technical comments cus It's not my place.
Only thing I would say is lose th delay on the vocals.
I know its mostly down to not having confidence in your voice but its nice to hear the timbres and stuff and think too much delay kills that. But no big deal.
I noticed you like a lot of creation stuff.I was signed to them in the late nineties just before the debtors moved in..hohum.
I also noticed you got a lot of v.nice ladies checking your stuff out so you must be doin sumthin right.
regards

There was a quite a few good bands on creation that no one got to hear about cus of bullshit buisness politics and of course a lot of energy going into Oasis, primal scream, etc.
Despite all that britpop hype shit they were in hock to sony big time and basically went into liquidation.
Just at the time I was booked in to record my first album.
To put things into perspective I was told by primal screams manager that I was out of control and should stop drinking!!
A bit rich really but it gives you some idea where my head was at and I just ended up in the gutter unable to get arrested in the buisness.
I wised up and cleaned up and cant really deal with all the smoke and mirrors BS that goes on.
I say what I see and record company execs dont like that.
Dont be fooled by all the indie label nonsense they tow the line like everyone else.
Still its your thread..carry on.

PUNK POP? CHEAP DANCE?
sheez i hate both of those. you think it sounds like that?
i was kind of aiming for the cure kind of stuff... dark synth pop/ new wave kind of sounds...

Coulda sworn I already replied to this! I certainly meant to-- I listened to it straight away.
- Not a HUGE fan of the drums
- Voice is hidden behind a wash of reverb and layering
- Crash needs variety!
Other than that, awesome stuff as usual! I personally think that except for the drums, you've paid an excellent tribute to the musicians that have inspired you and shaped the way you approach songwriting. The tinkly guitar parts, in particular, are very Cure-like without being a direct copy. Great stuff! Despite my criticism of the "wash" of vocals, they just may well work for this kind of track, as you certainly don't want a dry sound either. I wonder if there's a middle ground. Even just cutting back the wet reverb by a mere 10-25% might give it the clarity it needs.
Catchy track! I wish the drums didn't detract from the rest of it.
