t2 was programmed in march this year.
what happens till then, where are the frequently updates, where are important fixes (that most tracktion fans have thought would be released) ? just one minor update (3 monthes back).

shame on you mackie. stop fooling us. there are serious problems in developement & marketing.

it's quiet in here, because users are switching over to other sequencers. i haven't seen too much people talking about t2 anymore. i can't tell my friends anymore "go, buy tracktion, that will be a big one soon".

even if there is only 1 bugfix since last update, release it!!! :x :x :x :x

No, it's quiet in here because everyone is happily making music with Tracktion. :hihi:

It's quiet in here? I hadn't noticed...

Funny how whiners tend to post in such a way that they act like they have legions of people on their side in their whining, as if it lends credibility to their complaint.

If it's quiet around here, I'll TAKE it!

I thought you were off making love to a new sequencer or something, yourself... or are your other dalliances leaving you cold and unsatisfied? If you're gone, then just go. If you're not gone then quit trolling.

I agree. The majority of users, even those who post here regularly, are off making music. These forums are for bug reports, feature requests, and technical help. It's quiet in here because alot of that isn't going on. You probably couldn't mention even 5 people who have switched since the bug update release that were'nt already on the verge anyways. Go ahead, try.

That's five with only one person. :)

Still the updates have not been exactly fast and furious. Release early and often would be a great Mackie mantra. I had to revert to 1.6 because of some strange issues. Not that I'd consider another host tho. However, if by 2010, the final bugfixes for T2 are still not released, I may be tempted to move to Live version 51!

I personally am using Live 5 almost exclusively, but really mostly working on my instument skills more than farting about with sequencers. I'm just gonna sit back and wait for something to happen with T2, if nothing happens that pulls me back in I'll just use it for mastering and hope T3 brings the features that I want. But I have to say I'm not very 'excited' about T2 anymore. Wait and see is all we can do.

As far as it being slow around here, I just counted 15 threads active in the last 24 hours. That's pretty active for a product-specific forum IMO.

I can wait for updates. BUT

with T2 there is often no indication whether bugs reported are being worked on or just ignored. I've said this before but I really think the community would benefit greatly if a more structured bug reporting/testing system was in place. The lack of it seems to cause alot of impatience and frustration for some users.

Post

there is. i think, beno mentioned they have that now, something about people posting bugs, for one you can post them here and we could test them out.. i dunno, it is hard to wait for these things... But just use what you can while you can.

Ah, but there IS a structured bug-hunting system in place, along with a database. It doesn't really make sense to have a bug database as part of a KvR forum, though, does it? Kinda tricky to maintain, whereas Mackie can use their own reporting tools (likely a company-accessible database, but I'm just guessing) if it's not forum-driven.

I know it's a lot to ask, but unfortunately all we can have is a little faith. We've been told many many times that Tracktion is a priority for a whole team of people, which means that there's daily and continuous development on the Tracktion front. Some companies DO have public databases (though I'm not sure which ones and I've never personally seen one, I believe they exist!) and a more continual stream of 'updates'; however, many companies do NOT. While many of us would love Tracktion to be unique in its delivery (ie. like an independent eXT-like project but delivered by a major company like Mackie!) I don't think that it's really behind the ball or doing anything too weird compared to other companies.

Seems to me that there are MANY softwares that just suddenly drop onto your lap without a whole lot of talk or updates in-between versions.

In all honesty, I haven't encountered any issues that have made me wish for an update. I have had a few wierd issues, but T2 is quite stable for me.

Live's public forums ran/run a very public bug forum that works pretty darn well. It's locked now but was open for a long while after Live 5 was released. You can still peruse the threads to see if an issue you know of has been addressed, plus there's the usual 'Bugs and Problems' forum. Lots of companies could learn from Ableton's way of handling projects (not just music software).

No doubt. :D

I sincerely believe it was a good idea, so I don't mean this in a snarky way AT ALL, but I AM curious about why it's locked now. It seemed to have worked well enough, from what you (and headquest?) have indicated.
