I promised to uncover the amp sims behind the clips - here were go:
Clip 1:
- Amp: Voxengo Boogex
- Settings: Cabinet 9 4x12 close (Lows -3,7 dB, Mids 1,3dB, Highs -6,1dB)
Clip 2:
- Amp: GuitarSuite JCM900
- Settings: High -> 0
Clip 3:
- Amp: Izotope Trash
- Settings: Box Model "Allston Classic", cut some highs off with the Post Filter
Clip 4:
- Amp: Voxengo Boogex
- Settings: Same as in clip 1
- The trick was that I recorded the quitar also acoustically using Neumann TLM 103 microphone. I simply mixed some of that to the Boogex guitar.
And the setup:
- Guitar: Ibanez AK85
- Pre amp: Focusrite Penta
- Sound card: MAudio Delta Audiophile
- SW: Sonar 4.0.3
Personally I liked Boogex the most (both clip1 and clip4). I was little surprised that you didn't like Trash at all - but it was just one sound. Trash has a big number of different amp/cabinet simulations, and I'm pretty sure there are sounds that would have pleased you too. I didn't like JCM900 at all - and I had very hard time to find the sound I wanted with any Guitar Suite amps.
But it's all matter of taste
