question about copying midi tracks

I've had Traction for a while (since the last version), but I've only just started playing with VSTis.

My problem is that I've got a riff playing in one track on a Superwave p8, and I want to copy it across to another track so that the same riff plays on a Vanguard. When I do this by cutting and pasting, the Vanguard plays the same riff fine but it wont let me change the preset. It's stuck at preset #6, which is what the P8 was on when I originally recorded the riff from my midi keyboard.

How do I change the Vanguard preset in such a way that it wont revert back every time the riff starts?

Select the MIDI clip in the Vanguard track. Down at the bottom click on "insert program change" then select "remove all program-change messages from this clip".
