. . . build the composite take ?
Not sure if this is already a FR, but I have found cutting and pasting and deleting overlaps a little onerous when cobbling together a composite take. I'm aware that in Sonar it is possible to simply mute unwanted sections of each take leaving only those desired sections audible. Is this the kind of thing others would find useful (I know I would)

if you chaing the thread name to mute clips FR then you will see it allmost top of the list of the FRs 
but as the thread title stands i dont understand what it is you want?
is it just to be able to mute clips?

- to mute sections of the clips which were recorded in loop recording mode.An example: In loop recording mode I record 3 takes of a 30 second guitar break. I like the start of the first one, the middle of the second and the end of the third. I'd like to be able to mute (simply, by painting with the mouse for example) the last 20 seconds of take 1, the first and last 10 seconds of take 2, and the first 20 seconds of take 3 so that what is heard is the un-muted sections of each take's clip.
imho it would be way easier than the current cutting and pasting and dragging to new tracks and deleting of overlaps. If it's just me then fine - I like that loop recording is there and it works currently but I just thought this would be slick.[/i]

I see what you're wanting to do, but I don't see how it's faster or easier than slip editting out the bits you don't want using the arrows at the top of the clips?

I don't see it, either. The current way takes the same amount of time and is ultimately more flexible since all it takes is further 'handle-drags' to fine-tune the 'muted' sections.

It would if I'd thought to do it that way wouldn't it! I was blindly following the manual (scrub, cut clip, paste new shorter clip) - but I can just handle drag the relevant secions out (and split it once if I want to take a middle section out)Easy when you actually use your brain! Cheers LM

Only repeating what chico already said.
If you have 'audible scrubbing', the handles act as scrub at the same time, so you can hear what's going on. I find the scrub a little quirky if you go TOOooo slowly, but it's a good reference point nonetheless.
