My situation :

I put Kompact (with a sound loaded on each channel) as insert in a track of Tracktion 1.06 and I can't assign each midi channel to that sound.

For now, I load kompact with the sound I want on different tracks, but doing that I increase the CPU load.

On cubase you load kompact once and then you choose the channel.
How can I do the same on Tracktion ?

thank you everybody

There are a set of pluggins called NCDPlugs. The one i use for exactly what you're talking about is called MIDI Channelizer.

You put that as the first filter before the kompakt filter. It takes channel 1 in and spits out whatever channel you select. Does exactly what you want.

If you cant find it, pm me and i'll locate it for you.

Even with this plug I have to reload kompact interface on each track.

easy.... load kompakt to just one track. create a new tracks for each of your lines that output to the kompakt track. record your midi clips. select each clip, and at the bottom there is a slider for midi channel.

i do this all the time, works perfectly.
hope this helps,
c.

Thanks for your input, chrismuktar. I had the same problem as Raniel, only in T2. Couldn't figure it out at all, but now it's a breeze. Cheers.
Raniel, to add to chrismuktar's directions, you won't be able to adjust volumes for each track within Tracktion. You have to go back into Kompakt, select each instrument in turn and adjust that instrument's volume with the button on the right. It's fiddly but it works.

i think your problem might be that you're underestimating the dominance of the letter 'k' in NI products. i think the german keyboard omits the letter 'c'

there is also a midi channel selector on the midi input controller aswell,

so if you want to controll midi different channels from your midi controller then you need to select the midi controller on the left of the screen & chainge the midi channel in the propties pannel
