I have BFD running happily. I set up a reverb within a rack for the snare only. Suddenly the volume of BFD drops down to barely audible. I reset and play. It drops again. This happens at various points throughout the song. It didn't happen before. The never was any automation on that track. There still is no active automation on that track. I tried creating a new track, copying the midi and dragging a new BFD rack. It is still happening. f**k f**k f**k. Is it just me?

I'd start with the virtual drummer jokes, but that would just be cruel. Curious if it's a 'rack' issue. You could you try using Senderella for the snare verb.
And just lose the rack to see if the problem goes away. Sorry for the frustration, try one simple troubleshooting thing at a time, don't start syncopating your troubles right away. Save some angst for tomorrow.

I notice quite often that plugin interfaces are transparent to Tracktion. I notice it a lot with Wusikstation wherby I click on the interface and a midi note is added underneath or something is selected (i.e. another plugin or a clip. This is most likely because I use WS more than any other plugin but I am pretty sure it happens with any plug. Could this be the problem? Who knows. It sure can't help to have random clicking going on.

I'll give senderella a go, but to be honest I like using the racks and I can't see how this issue could be related. Thanks.

Go to BFD Option panel (the one with the ? mark) and uncheck the "Respond to MIDI CC's".
Hopefully that will solve it.

Where it appears that cutting/pasting or moving clips causes automation to be on for every knob and dial. I thought for a while it was me, but it is a bug.

I'm glad to hear I'm not alone in this. It happens only occasionally, but when it does I am sure I didn't record any automation, there is not automation points or even any active curve, and the only way to get rid of it is to set up an entirely new track. Just what you want in the middle of a recording session.
