Hi folks!
First of all I like to say HELLO, I'm new in this Forum.
My Problem is the automation of parameters of Reason-Instruments in Tracktion. I like to use Tracktion as sequencer instead of the Reason-intern sequencer, so how can I record changes of the parameters of the instruments in Reason, like the modwheel or pitchwheel in Tracktion?!
According to the Reason-manual it should work, please don't say that no information from Reason to an extern sequencer is transported via Rewire, the automation parameters do (is said in the manual).
So how can I record these changes in Tracktion?! I set up the Audio-Inputs an Midi-Outputs for the Reason devices correctly, but I can't record anything...
by the way: is there any possibility to record a redrum-pattern in tracktion?!
Thanks for your advice :)

P.S.: i'm sorry about my poor english ;)

VSTi automation will not work because rewire doesn't support that.

However, all of Reason's parameters can be controlled by midi CC events in Tracktion's midi editor. So even though its not as friendly as the 'big A' button, all is not lost.

There are two problems that you will encounter if you are used to working in the Reason sequencer:

1. Unfortunately, midi CC events are not properly chased in an external sequencer including Tracktion and Live. This means that parameters are only affected by changes in CC and not the actual value at that time. In other words, only when the CC is changed will that value be rewired to Reason.

To be fair, this also happens on real instruments too. But, if you are used to working in Reason only you'll have to get used to this.

2. The biggest problem is CC references. Tracktion does not know what CC refers to what Reason parameter. So to adjust the cut-off of the second filter in the Sub you need to change CC#86 or whatever it is. The Reason documentation gives a full account of what CC controls what.

Live handles this better and CC are given real names like on the Reason sequencer.

I see that you are using T1.6, I would upgrade to T2 if you can. CC editing in 1.6 was terribly difficult.

Even so, I do all my automation of Reason instruments in the Reason sequencer. Its so much easier and the above pitfalls are avoided completely.
