How do I use my soundcards Playback and Recording options so that I can get a hot signal from my guitar (through VAMP 2)into T2, but turn the volume down? :?

If I reduce the Playback LineIn level, the Tracktion audio input level drops as well. I thought that you set the recording level independantly with the Recording properties Analog Mix slider. I'm using an Audigy with Creative ASIO as the wave device.

Any help appreciated.

Also posted in Hardware/Setup as well, to see if I can get any help there.

Is End-To-End enabled? If so you could disable so you hear nothing in T. Then use your sound card monitor mixer to monitor. Does the Audigy do that? I don't know. But someone will wander by to tell us.
perception: the stuff reality is made of.

Thanks mandolarian for the suggestion.

It seems that my soundcard's LineIn Play Control Slider affects the level in Tracktion, so I can't control the playback level and the recording level independantly. Does that sound right?

Can't you just lower the tracks volume level with the vol/pan filter?

Bingo - Alan, I have nearly the same setup - V-Amp 2, going into the Aux in RCA jacks on the front of an SB Live Platinum card.

Just remember that the vol/pan filter doesn't affect the recorded volume.

Set your gain using the VU meter, adjust output volume with the Vol/pan filter.

I never thought of that! I'll give it a go and let you know how I get on.

Presumably T2 works differently to other sequencers. I remember when I used nTrack that the Playback volume didn't affect the recording level.
