(EDIT 112/19/2005- This Problem was in Emu drivers and was fixed by Emu. - kjk

Hi Folks,
I took the opportunity with the new release of Tracktion to move it to my new Pentium D (no hyperthread) and Windows x64. I'm using an Emu 1820m card and their BETA drivers. Tracktion does not see the ASIO I/O but does see the Wave I/O. I then loaded Cubase LE and it sees all I/O correctly. I reloaded drivers etc..
I'm using 44.1K internal sync - nothing fancy.

Has anyone else seen this kind of problem or am I too far out on the tech curve, ahead of x64bit stability?

There are issues on ASIO 64bits, the standard SDK is for 32-bits PCs, not 64bits, so if Steinberg upgraded ASIO in an other way than T2 :|

So I'm using Cubase LE right now. i have two choices: upgrade to Cubase SX or get x64 ASIO support for Tracktion asap. I really had hoped to center this new system around traction. any timeframes for x64 ASIO support?

The Cubase LE build date shows April 2005 so it is possible they used a 64bit SDK. Ableton Live doesn't see the Emu x64 ASIO drivers either.

Hey kenjkelly
Did you manage to get Tracktion working with x64 yet? I'm thinking of upgrading to x64 also, but not if I can't get Tracktion to work. Or maybe I'll just have to go back to Sonar/P5!

Post

kenjkelly,
If you're thinking about going to Cubase for 64 bit support I would look at Sonar 5 first. IMHO Sonar 5 is a more efficient and professional platform than Cubase. I'm possibly thinking of going that way myself from Tracktion even though I don't want to fork out the $$.

No luck getting traction to recognize Emu 1820m ASIO. Emu's Beta Windows x64 driver expires this month so I'm hoping they have another release. I'm not sure if the problem is Traction or Emu's 64bit drivers.

Re Sonar: Emu offered an upgrade from the user-horrible Cubase VST to the much nicer (not as user friendly as Traction but nice) Cubase LE for $24.00 so I had to try it. Cubase LE has a switch to enable multi-processor support (good for my Pentium D) and it works with Emu's 64bit drivers. I also like the on-screen mixer instead of having to click on each track to adjust mixes.

GOOD NEWS! I just downloaded the new Emu 1820m x64 drivers and TRACKTION works with them. I'm back in business.
