Tracktion Software

My video card just got fried and I need to run out and get a reasonably priced AGP card. Any recommendations form people who run T2 trouble-free?

I'm running an ATI Radeon 9250. Not sure that means anything, though... I believe it was audiobot who tried out the same card and it didn't cure his ailment. I'm running smoove, though.

I am no expert in this but as far as I understand it, if you buy a very cheap card it's not good because it will hog the CPU on the other hand if you buy a very expensive card it's not good either because it will hog the PCI bus (AGP and PCI share the same pipes) so a middle of the road card is your best bet.

Sound fair enough. With the PCI-hog cards, though, you can at least set the PCI latency.

ive been using geforce3ti500 and another geforce card, old one - to do my dual monitor job- no longer, soon!

Cool, thanks for the info. My options were slightly limited because my mobo has a slightly older 4x AGP Pro50 slot, so I had to get a card that is backward-compatibe with it, so I settled on this:

I used to have a really good Nvidia Quadro2, which used to be a $1000+ card. Since I don't do 3d work anymore, I have to say that Tracktion appears to work smoother with this new $125 card!
