Hi,

I always ramdonize the velocity of the midi drum track
manually.. that's what I did: select all the hi-hat note
in the midi editor, and than scroll my mouse point
across the velocity bars.. and then did the same with
cymbal, and then bassdrum......

but in T2, when i select all the hi-hat note and then
adjust the velocity, it will adjust the velocity for ALL
the selected note..

My quest is how can I do it in the way of T1? or any
recommendation to randomize the midi drum track?

Thanks
laiben

I don't know what you mean about "before T2", since there were no velocity bars in T1...! Or were there??? In any case, in T2, you enable the velocity lane, select one note on the piano roll of a type (say, your hi-hat) and then use the "select all notes of same pitch" function. Only the velocity bars of that type of note should then be highlighted. Use the pencil or line tool to adjust velocity to taste.

Select all the notes, show velocity (all in red), hold shift (or control) and drag individual notes while the rest remain unchanged and still selected.

Thanks for the tips!
I found that press "D" to switch the pencil tool in the velocity window also works..
Thanks!

A cool way is also to use a track for each note, all being routed into the track with the sampler. Then you can automate a volume/pan-fader plug with the "apply to midi velocities"-button engage and just to it that way.

Sounds like a lot of work compared to just using the line tool to hack off the velocities of selected notes!

Sure, but it's very flexible, but I do admit that randomizing sounds much easier.
