Receptor could still use a little help despite the reputation it has. I already said in a previous posting that it could use more HI-Z inputs (since I'm a guitarist of course). However, it could also use some other improvements. I personally think the folks at Muse Research can take a hint from the people who made Reaktor: they could let you build plug-ins from scratch - even when using actual Receptor plug-ins. They could also emulate the Roland V-Synth 2 and add a full color screen instead of an LCD, eliminating the need for an external monitor. Of course, it would take up more rack space that way, but that will only leave more room for extra processing power! Better yet, they could make it a touch screen display, enabling the user to edit plug-in parameters with ease. Otherwise, they could even add more format support to it, such as Audio Units, DX and more.

I would hope that 2nd gen receptors would provide MORE CPU and Memory. (and of course UniWire!) An internal 10K+ SCSI drive would also be nice. For my needs processing and data transmission speed is more important than bells and whistles. (I already have several bells and whistles...)

1. Faster processor.
2. More memory,
3. Larger hard drive, including support for external USB drives.
4. Make the hardware upgradeable.
5. Normalize the install process so any VST is compatible.
