if I am a Dj how should I use this thing?

I just want to record my sets and have it sound good to distribute. I also want to be able to extract sound from albums and remix them. How do I clean up damaged sound or enhance recordins, remaster old tapes or lp?

Audacity to record your sets, you can do some post processing to make them sound better too.
For cleaning up old LP's & tapes though, I use Steinberg Clean 5.0 (about £25). It's an easy-to-use, one-stop-shop, specifically designed to do just what you're asking.

learn tracktions basic features (comes with a great pdf manual). get a usb phono preamp (install appropriate drivers). run that into your 'puter. open tracktion. open new project. enable tracks to record. be a dj. record set. save files. load out. go home. get in bed and rest. get up next day, edit tracks. mixdown. copy cds. make a million bucks. remember i showed you how to do it. send money.
