Pretty much this is it. Do I insert Sampletube just like any other instrument? I should be so easy &^%$#.

Do you mean Amplitube?
Anti-aliasing is for "synthmonk%ys".

"sample tank" loads as a vsti (instrument) & "amplitube" loads as a vst (effect)

sample tank will make NO SOUNDS when loaded! you need to load a patch from within the vsti

amplitube will be placed after a instrument (to the right of a vsti) & you should notice a big difference in the sound as soon as its loaded

if it is sample tank then this video might help you load a bank from within the vsti ( http://www.skirize.adbe.org/T2MultiOutVST.mov )

in this tutorail i useed sonic syinth (witch is allmost the same as sample tank)

all the best

Whoa, thanks for the video. I really apppreciated receiving this. I mave managed to get fairly confortable with T2 it's just getting Samplitube working with my MIDI keystation pro 88 keyboard. I load up sounds just fine, plays on the on screen keys ok. I can't however use the physical device to produce anything note worthly. (pun) . I logged this issue with the support staf at Traction now I will wait for the I imagine.

If I may ask another question:
Is there a good book or video on the subject of MIDI? I've downloaded so MIDI utilities but don't really know quite where to start with them.

Sincerely;

@rsher

a first start for MIDI may be the the WIKIPEDIA Page.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musical_in ... _interface
At the bottom of the page are further resources.

also Virtual Studio Technology (VST) may be helpful
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_Studio_Technology

Then I would suggest a more systematic approach than asking for small details of the whole puzzle in forums. There are a lot of resources on the web you can find with search machines, but I personally prefer sitting on the bed with a good book first.

If you then ask more specific questions your learning curve will be better IMO.

Don't get lost in the expert discussions you will also find on this or similar forums. For the beginning you don't need every tool, plugin, advanced recording tricks. Get familar with the basics first. Tracktion is the ideal starting point because its less complex than the other big software packages.

Question;

Could I use the 16 sliders on my keyboard to control 16 tracks that I created in Tracktion2 ?

This would be very cool...
Would you know how to accomplish this??

Post

yes you can ;)

if you press Ctrl+Shift+M the midi mapper will open

click the left hand box & move a controller (it should auto detect the controller you are moving, you will know if it has because numbers will chainge in the box when you move the controller)

now click the right hand list & a list will drop down

now go & select the thing you want to controll with that controller from the list ;)

the midi mapper will let you use a midi controler (like one of the sliders on your keyboard) to allmost any paramater being used in T2

all vst's that suport automation will have all there knobs in a list to select & controll (all this is done inside the midi mapper)

you can allso controll volumes & pans, & in futcher updates who knows what else :shrug:

i think the midi mapper is "well kewl"

it made me go buy a BCR2000 midi controller ;)

So I'll press Ctrl+Shift+M to open the midi mapper and try to make it work from here.
