ill be doing an album for a rock band this month, starting the 6th. ill be concentrating on getting drum takes for the first week, so no hurry here...

i need to figure out the best way to punch in or do multiple takes of vocals and guitar and keys, and perhaps bass... everything except drums i suppose...

when i need to redo a section, should i just make a new track and start the recording a few seconds before when i want to actually play? or should i do something else more efficient? which would you do? i don't mind creating new tracks and recording longer then trimming it down..

also, is there a way to then "consolidate" all of these tracks, once i get all of the trimming done? is there a "consolidate" command or button in there somewhere that im missing?

any assistance would be nice.

I have used the puch function several tiems and it tried it the otherway by doning the correction in another track. If you are correcting then I would use the punch mode. It is absolutley awesome and a lot easier.
Just trying to learn about recording, that is if my head is not too hard.
