Receptor Hard Drive Question

I'm running Pro Tools on a Dual G5 Mac, and I have some plugs that don't perform very well, esp EastWest Platinum Orchestra and Symphonic Choirs.

Coupla questions.

1) Thinking of buying a receptor w/ 160 or 200 Gig Hard Drive. Do the sample libraries have to live on the Receptor hard drive to take the load off the Mac, or can I have other external drives 'feeding' the receptor?

2) How much of the Hard Drive space is usable before performance is affected?

3) Is anyone familiar enough with the type of setup I would have to know how many tracks of EW Platinun Orch I could run if I had say 1.25 Gigs RAM?
