I want to use VST effects on individual SW1000xg midi channels in realtime– is this possible?.... I don’t want to record the midi via the SW1000xg loopback function and then apply VST effects to the wav file - too long winded.
If you could, it would add a massive amount of possibilities to the SW1000xg sounds - indeed, any midi card. I need more effects options than the SW1000xg can offer.
My setup:
PC Dell inspiron 170 GL- 1.7 intel, 1 GB RAM
Tracktion 2
Reason 3 (connected via rewire)
SW1000xg (connected to EMU 0404 via SPDIF out)
Emu 0404 PCI soundcard
UR 80 (for external midi control)
UC16 (external midi control)
Yamaha AN1x (master keyboard and Midi control)
Thanks,
Simon

I also have the SW1000XG card. There is no way to apply realtime VST effects to the MIDI sounds of the card.
The only way is to record the sounds and then apply VST effects to the recoreded audio files.
But you can use the SPDIF input from your Emu card in Tracktion as an input device and route the SW1000XG directly into Tracktion. That's the way I do it. (Except that I have an Audiophile 24/96 card...) And maybe there is a way to apply VST effects to the input in realtime...racks?...dont know. I have to figure this out some time...
