I was playing with using FS on vocals in the weehours in the short time between downloading the demo and buying it :hihi:
now i can't figger out what the heck i was even doing to that vocal track in my sleep-deprived mania..of course i didn't save anything...
(knew i never should have looked in the manual, right!) :help:

u-he FS webpage: "Talkbox /Vocoder like effects by modulated formant accentuation"

hmm... why is this so much harder for me to grasp
then that "flavour" knob ?
can someone please point me in the right direction?

thanx, PETE

Hmmm... that flavour knob... this is not exactly in Filterscape, is it?

Regarding those vocodish effects... check out that "Yeah Yeah Yeah" preset. Or just create some peaks in the EQ that you modulate in frequency. There you go ;-)

Uhm, and yeah, you should definately have a look at the manual ;-)

Though, you can already get a lot out of this:

Thanks Urs

Filterscape is quite a lot different then anything I've seen before, so I was thrown off a bit searching for "formant" in the FS manual which i associate with the vocal transforming gizmos in LOGIC.

Actually I have a vocal part going through the PAD CHOPPER at the moment that sounds really nice but sure you're right... it was that and YAYEE YAHEE that first time fooling around. Seems quite obvious now from recalling other preset names now... that other-worldly yet warm human quality in your synth sounds like Zoyd and the UH EY bass patch in Zebra 2 ...i feel that so deeply. ...like being a little child and hearing perry-kingsley's "in sounds from way out" for the very first time.

Now instead of making the machine sound human this is the polar opposite-- using FS on my own real vocals. For my purposes now, I think the vocal part needs to be very basic and the effect needs to be really subtle..so i am fooling around with all that.

Are there more Filterscape presets around then what were in the initial demo d/l? I've found quite a lot for the VA but not so many for filterscape itself.

Lastly, maybe it's just my set up but the user and local preset areas in the Zebra 2 Preview and the Filterscape VA are both acting a little strangely.

thanx, PETE

ps: that flavour knob is either in the Filterscape VA or Zebra 2 Preview someplace...isn't it? Well wherever it was -- it works great!
