Downloaded some free plugins.They show up in Tracktion on my hdd but,when I open T,their not there.What am I missing?Also,what's up with the Mackie plugs not remembering the setting after closing an edit.This is really a PITA.Thanks for the help.

Go to the settings page and the plugins tab. Make sure that the directory where you put the dlls is shown there. If not, add it. Then click rescan plugins and yr golden. Dunno about the Mackie plugs cuz I'm a DL-boy.

Have you scanned the directories to add them to Tracktions registered list of plugins? Just because they are in a directory does not mean that Tracktion has registered the existence of the .dll
This is true for any host software.

They really MUST appear if they're in one of Tracktion's plug-in paths and you've scanned. If they're bad plug-ins (ie. DirectX or otherwise just dodgy), they'll appear in that currently-empty box for your plugins in the settings page (the ignore list).
If they don't appear in T, and they don't appear on that dodgy list then either:
a) you've installed them incorrectly
b) you've moved files that you thought were plug-ins, but which actually are not
c) they're there, in a sub-menu or something, and you just didn't see them.
I'm going with "C".

Do you have another host software, you can point to the plugin folder?
Regrading the Mackie plugins: are you sure the parameters aren't saved when you save an edit? Ignore the displayed preset name and check the knobs & faders themselves.

Thanks everyone!Had to go back & retrace my steps.Got'em all working now.Pilot error is a MFer.The newb blues isn't much better.Thanks spacefox,I'll definitly check the settings & see if their the same.See you all soon! THANKS AGAIN.
