Hello everyone,

I'm new to Tracktion and can't seem to get my head around the whole rack filter thing. I've read the other posts in here but I'm still running into a brick wall. What I want to do is have a VSti soft-synth on track 1 and have the output of it go into multiple tracks, let's say 2,3, and 4. How do I get the output of track 1 to go onto those other tracks while recording on track 1. I want to do this for layering, let's say, having a pad on Track 1 and strings on Track 2, etc... Does this make sense to anyone? Is it even possible? I would greatly appreciate any help with this. Thank you.

The easiest way to layer like that would be to use a midi-rack filter on each track. Make a new rack filter, drag the midi input across to the output. Now control-drag that rack to other tracks you want to trigger (Control dragging will make a copy of the rack). Now when you trigger the first track, any other track that has that rack filter will also be triggered.

Another way of doing it would be to stick all the instruments you want to layer in the same rack.

Exactly!
I would go with the first method suggested as it gives you more versatility in this situation.
Anti-aliasing is for "synthmonk%ys".
