Convolution effect w/ real time piano patch?

Has anyone had any success using a convolution effect with the buffer size at 128? How about 256 buffer? Neither of those works for me, still get the stuttering that makes it unusable. At 1024 the stuttering goes away, but that's too much latency for real time use (I want to use the receptor live, and it would be nice to have a piano sound with the convolution resonance ie TSO piano). Anyone have any suggestions (other than the Dick Cheney line used on the floor of the senate ?

which Convolver are you using, SIR? Doesn't that have a huge latency to begin with?
