Stopping midi CC messages

Ok, here's a weird one. I have an Edirol PCR-M30. I want to use the faders to control the volume of each track.
Fine, I map each fader CC message to a channel volume control using the midi mapping feature. This works fine, the fader adjusts the volume properly but the controller message also seems to be passed through the channel chain. So if I have a VST on that channel which responds to that particular controller message, it processes the message despite the fact that I have remapped it to the volume level for that channel.

This is frustrating. I can get around it by disconnecting the midi device from the channel but I shouldn't have to do this. A remapped CC should completely remap the message, shouldn't it?

Anyone else seen this or have a solution?

Hi,

As far as I understood your question you will only be able to uncheck the "receive CC" box in your vst GUI (or similar) but there is no way to prevent Tracktion to send the CC datas... except deleting all CC from the clips.

Unless you're playing whilst adjusting the volume, why do you need the MIDI device connected to a track?

Make a midi control surface instead of using the midi mapping feature. That will stop the cc messages from getting through.
