Wow. Just listened to the demos on their site, and I hafta say...that has to be the worst sounding saxophone sound I have ever heard. Is ANYONE able to use that plug? It is so bad, that I almost don't even care what the other instruments sound like...Am I missing something?

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't realize it was a synchrosoft dongle deal...thank goodness it won't be residing on any receptors any time soon...

HI

It begs the question; is there a half decent VSTI that can emulate (or throw out samples) the ole Sax, trombone and trumpet in anything approaching a realistic fashion?

Sax Lab is quite nice but you are left needing a bloody trombone and trumpet!

How about 'liquid brass'?

Flipper.

sfZ is already loaded on the receptor and it has a great trumpet. Just go to Synth Singles and load in Trumpet.

I have a trombone multisample that I made myself about 15 years ago from a U220 trombone. It is still the best trombone sample on the planet. PM me and I will email it to you.

I am convinced that Linplug SaxLab has the most playable saxes and bes flute in town. Only I am having trouble with SaxLab locking up my Receptor. I hope they fix this problem soon.

How often does it lock up Phil? Are you using the demo or full? Very interested in this, if it will be supported on Receptor fully. An installer for it.

SaxLab locks up most of the time when you change multis. If you are having problems simply delete the SaxLab folder from you Unsupported Plugins folder. To install SaxLab, drag the Saxlab folder and its subfolders into the Unsupported Plugins Folder. Switch to Setup and click Install. Receptor will probably crash during the install, but don't fear... Restart Receptor and try installing SaxLab again. It works on the second time through even though Receptor may crash again. The next time you restart, Saxlab will be there!

BTW - all SaxLab instruments are mono. But they have trombones, trumpets, flutes and a whole bunch of saxes. It really sounds good to my ears. I hope Farhan can make Saxlab stable, it is really a great tool.

BTW - I think Linplug's plugins are really aces. Especially Albino! The deep bass is awesome. I haven't quite got the hang of Cronox yet.
