I've asked this question a couple times before, but I have never got a response to it.

When you trigger a pattern using chanel 16 it doesn't start on page one of the pattern, but rather on whatever page it is on in relation to the entire song. Is there a way to get around this?

For example I want to set up the patern for my chorus, but each time I trigger the pattern for the chorus it is on a different page which messes up fills, cymbals, etc.

All I want is when I switch patterns for it to always start on page 1 of that pattern. Is this possible, and if not would it be difficult to make it possible?

From the manual:

If you are using DK+ in a live performance and would like to trigger the patterns via a MIDI keyboard, you may want that the pattern switch will only occur at the end the pattern. You can enable/disable the "Sequencer Live mode" in the Preferences dialog.

This works as advertised. With Live Mode enabled, change the pattern with a midi note, the current pattern finishes, then the newly selected pattern starts at Page 1.

This works as advertised. With Live Mode enabled, change the pattern with a midi note, the current pattern finishes, then the newly selected pattern starts at Page 1.

It doesn't work for me. I tried with both live mode selected and not, with no difference.

I have a blank patern (plays one page), then another single page patern (plays one page), that moves into another single page pattern (played four times), into an 8 page pattern. This pattern starts on page seven of the eight page pattern.

If I move the trigger note a little late in live mode I can get it to play page one first, but then it goes right to page eight, and then from 1-8 correctly.

When I first tried to use triggers I started with live mode (because of the section you quoted from the manual), But I find it very wierd. If I stop traction, rewind right to the beginning, and press play it gets the patterns right - but if I start playing in the middle somewhere it seems to pick the patterns randomly.

Where do I send it to? And I assume you would just want only the midi track triggering the changes in patterns and dk+ in the rack, and take out all other effects in the rack and song?

Mackie Tracktion v2 latest release.

I have tried it both in a "rack" for mutlti out, and just in a track with the same results.

this seems more a T2 bug than a DK+ bug, anyway please send the MIDI file of the track on CH 16 to

I hope this is just some foolish user error, and not an issue with tracktion. I hate waiting for bug fixes!

Solafide (and liqih) - I am a regular tracktion user, and a very regular DK+ user- I have just tried using midi channel 16 doing similar things as you suggest- changing patterns with different amounts of pages, etc. and everything seems to work exactly how it should.

you might want to remove your email address from the page- you can pm or email me your address, and I will get you an archive. But now, I just realised, I was doing it in real time, without an actual midi file- maybe when I create a midi file I will find something different...

Is this issue sorted? I just tried this in energyXT and have the same problem. When triggered, pattern doesn't start from page 1 but from the page that comes after the one from the previous pattern...

Live mode on/off seems to make no difference...

Not yet.

I sent a tracktion archive file to liqih, but He doesn't have tracktion, so I sent him the midi file I was using to trigger dk+ at his request.

I'm not sure what He could learn from the midi file, but I'm sure he knows what to look for.

I was told it was probably a bug in tracktion, but if it is happening in ext as well it would seem that dk+ is the source of the problem.
