hi

I love chopping up pads for that rhythmic stuttering sound (I guess it's gating).

Have been experimenting with Steinberg's old Chopper plugin...OK but fairly limited, and seems to click with any setting other than sine wave.

Any suggestions for a more uptodate, effective "chopper" audio plugin ?

glitch's gate section is cool, also for straight forward pattern gating (with delay and filters thrown in) scuzzphut6 takes some beating.

Oh man, that "Chopper" plug in is such a joke. I can't believe they haven't fixed it yet!

CamelSpace - its not free, but it is rather good (even if I say so myself

), and includes a bunch of other stuff apart from gating. There's a link in my sig.

AffectedME is free and has a 32 step gate that can be even be set to chop your audio randomly

I'm not sure if you're just talking about free effects (apologies if you are) - anyway, CamelSpace has a shuffle parameter.

look everybody.

i know there's some kind of unwritten law that says that everybody ever will always ignore any gating plugin i release for eyars and years.

i can release any kind of plugin i want, usually people use them, but not a gate. nobody wants to acknowledge that i release gating plugins.

i do.

they have shuffle.

they also have tempo-synced lfos which produce nice rhythmic effects.

okay?

now i know you'll never see this and i'll just come off as some prat, but it's all a big font joke anyway.

have a nice day, and have a free gating plugin that does stuff you want it to do.
