Hello,

i just discovered that i was running the latest beta (march) on my powerbook, and the january one on my G5 (Zrev failed AU val on the G5, so i updated to the latest beta on my G5 to make it pass). i am using logic 7.2.1 on 10.4.6

But now, after updating, suddenly the sound changed quite a lot in one of the projects using Zebra 2. A synth sound changed timbre and character so much that it sounds bad and misplaced, not just slightly different. Luckily i made a bounce of this project some weeks ago, and comparing the bounce to the current version, its totally messed up (and not my ears)

This makes me kinda want to totally stop using the betas - how do i know if the final release won't break all my hard-adjusted perfectly sculpted sounds into something wrong? At least if things change from beta to beta, how about translating older sounds into adjusting the change.

I know its beta and i'm not angry, and i guess i could put back the old beta to get the correct sound, but its not comfortable learning this.

what about all the nuances that i probably DONT notice?

If you don't notice the nuances then they're probably not worth worrying about.
Just joking

However, I do believe that people using the beta/preview version should not be surprised by any changes. Its part and parcel of using a product before final release. So far, I think I've been lucky and none of my presets seem to have been noticeably different between builds.

It should not sound any different. I'd be glad if you could send me the patch and a short mp3 of both versions. Maybe I've missed something anywhere...

i'll send you the files and the preset, it'll take some time until i'm back in studio, tomorrow i hope.

please note the preset will be the "new"/wrong one, but i'll send you an mp3 of how it sounded previously
