Yeah, and it would help increase the precision of various editing and sequencing tasks. It may not be a revolutionary feature but it couldn't hurt, right?

Currently, LUNA is not yet specialized in breaking up a drumloop and match it to tempo.
But it is possible though:
Add the beat to the composition
Set the composition snap "Off" (composer->context menu)
Split the drum part in as many slices as you want, preferrably per drum-hit
Now finetune the Start point for each drum slice in the Audio Lab
Finally, reset the composition grid (e.g. to 1/16th)
and now you can arrange the individual drum hits as you want.
And they will follow any tempo change
<edit>Mmm, just noticed that if i decrease the tempo, the sliced parts are playing longer, and thus consecutive hits may already be played out of sync. So this solution is not yet very tempo-independent</edit>
NB: The part length defines how long the slice is played, so you can trim off any unwanted overlaps by shortening the part. (also snapped to the grid)

The above solution does not mean that LUNA won't get specialized beat-matching support.
At the contrary, i think that feature is quite high on the whishlist.
I'm just giving a solution of how it can already be done now, with LUNA PR3.
