Convo Boy in Kristal audio engine

Hi,

Convo boy V2.04 loads and works fine in this audio application. But it's taking a lot of CPU even when no audio is played.

If the IR fraction is set to 100% the CPU meter jumps to 60%. If the IR fraction is set to 0% the CPU activity decrease accordingly. Loading 2 instances boost the CPU activity to 100%.

Of course with audio activity we see can the CPU activity jumps to 100%. But in idle state it still remains in high percentage.

The IR file used was stereo 5 seconds rate 44100 with latency set to max.

Is something can be done to fix this problem ?

Thanks,

Convo Boy is always processing, even without input. The audio engine in Kristal is always running.

I've checked this on my host with SONAR 5 and Kristal. Same IR of 7.5s in length.

SONAR shows 16% CPU while Kristal shows between 25% and 50%.

I suggest that the differences lie somewhere in the Kristal audio engine implementation - not Convo Boy.

I loaded 2 instances of Pristine space demo and saw also a cpu stress occuring.

Thanks,

By the way, does it make a difference if a stereo Ir file is split into left and right files and loaded in Convo boy ?

This question is probably stupid but who knows...

It should not make any difference since the left and right audio channels/signals are processed independently, stereo or otherwise.

Good news,

It's possible to load up to 3 instances of Convo Boy in the master track slots with almost no CPU usage !

The CPU problem occur only on the mixer side.
