Hi all,
I bought an used Receptor some weeks ago and wanted to install my EastWest Libraries on it (Ra,Colossus,SO Gold, Symphonic Choirs,Stormdrum), while Ra, Symphonic Orchestra, etc. worked fine I have problems with Colossus and Stormdrum.
When I try to register there should usually be the screen where I put in my serial number, then I get the System-ID number with which I gain my access code...

But when I try with Stormdrum or colossus, I can't enter a serial number but see a screen with the System ID, when trying to register with that - I get the error "Invalid Serial - your serial number has changed" I tried twice to reinstall those libraries without effect.

I asked NI about this problem and first they told me I should send them my serial numbers (what I did - although they know them already) and then I got the second mail:
"Please note that Native Instruments does not provide direct support for Muse Receptor systems. For any questions regarding the installation and authorization of NI products as well as performance related questions onthis platform, please contact Muse Research directly at www.museresearch.com (http://www.museresearch.com).
Best regards,"

So I landed here. Can it be that the previous owner had these libraries too and so somewhere there is a wrong serial number in the system? How can I delete this?
"Can you also sing or is it just screaming!"

Open a ticket on plug-o-rama. They can give you a "fixer" program that erases the bad serial numbers that are in the receptor registry.

Alternative, you could ask them to give you the receptor "WINE" version of Regedit, and delete the registry entries yourself.

Once the existing entries are gone, running the receptorized "registration tool" will prompt you and you can enter the good serial numbers and proceed with the authorizations.

I think you've got your answer, the previous owner removed the plugs but didn't clean the registry, hence you cannot use a different serial. I had the same problem. You need the Receptor regedit utility to remove the entries before starting the NI reg tool again.

Just to chime in, you can do some serious damage with RegEdit if you are not really computer savvy, which is why Farhan has created a series of installer "fixers" that do targeted fixing of these registry entries.

Best thing to do if you have a registration problem caused by entering in a wrong or invalid serial number, or otherwise trying to re-register a plug-in that was previously registered is to contact us by filling out a support ticket and we'll send you the appropriate fixer.

Nice from Muse, and yes, way safer.

Mind you, you should always work on a copy of the registry so you can revert to the original should something wrong happen when you do your edits.

Thanx for all your answers.
I already contacted Muse and they will send me a fixing file for my problem.
What gets me really upsat is the way NI just ignored the problem - you must use their faulty registering tool (I had also problems with registering PMI Bösendorfer on my new PC) but they don't support their products. But that's another thing so we better leave this.
