I opened a ticket on plugorama and ask "how much to upgrade my 10mo old RevB to RevC" and got this reponseGymnopedies wrote:Aside from shipping, how much were you charged?JayVee wrote:I sent mine back to Muse to get C.
I'm debating it with myself. Seems kinda steep to me actually....Rick wrote:John,
The REV C upgrade costs $499.00. Here's a bench mark test using East West Platinum with DFD:
Rev B: max 140 voices
Rev C: max 170 voices
Power:
Rev B uses approx 95 watts
Rev C uses approx 45 watts, these Receptors run much cooler and do not overheat.

Well, I perform live, and have now invested several thousand in Software, Hardware and cases to protect it all...
The investment is no good to me if I have to wonder about a particular set-up loading up properly or crashing. I chose Receptor so that I didn't have to cary around a computer & peripherals.
Maybe it's not for you, but I'm banking on my set-up, literally, it's how I earn my living, and I know it has been a good upgrade for my peace of mind.

I just got a Rev C and on boot, it says the CPU is an AMD Turion Mobile Ml-34.
That's a 64 bit processor with low power consumption. I dont know whats in Rev B and Rev A, but this can run 64 bit aps on a 64 bit OS should they update it.
It might be worth it if they start to tip that way.

No problem in going from A to C, same price etc. between either A or B and C.
I hope everyone understands that Rev C does not make Rev A or B obsolete, it is an improvement, and offers a few improvements over Rev A or Rev B, and we offer the upgrade so that if any one wants to stay current they can.
Doing the upgrade is also a great time to consider upgrading your drive, as well as having us do any custom installs you want done.
Just trying to keep everyone happy!
Cheers

Whether people decide to upgrade or not, and I decided to, Muse have to be praised for offering the possibility to do so. It is not often we are given this chance with music instruments. I know it is easier to upgrade a PC-based system than a classic synthsizer, nevertheless, kudos to Muse here. In my mind, this is the sort of thing that inspires confidence.groovology wrote:Just trying to keep everyone happy!
