NI Electrik Piano - patch change question

I cannot use snapshots for patch changes, I do a lot of real-time control and need to stay set up as I Ignore Bank Select and target Multis to be able to alter parameters in real time. Elektric Piano will let me create a bank of pianos and switch between then via 'function keys' on the GUI, but these are supposedly patch change 1-8. But if I send a patch change to a switchable channel, it reloads the entire multi-instrument patch rather than switching to a different function switch sound.

Any idea how I can make this work? I can send almost any controller message if need be, so if there is a way to tell EP to press the function keys, it should do the job.
