I've read the manuals for receptor, kontakt, and scarbee... and much of the setup and installation process is convoluted and certain procedures seem to work just a little differently than in the manual... I know I'm probably missing something but i can't figure it out.
It's especially frustrating that Scarbee DVD's don't have a dedicated installer... at least i can't find one!
I've got the correct scarbee programs and samples loaded into receptor (latest VKC kontakt version 16bit), i've got Kontakt 2 installed and authorized, i've rebuilt the database in Kontakt and the scarbee programs show up... but when i try to load them in Kontakt it tells me that I need to update to the latest version to load them... but i have the latest version.
I see a lot of confusing talk on here about having to use 2.1.1 to update... i'm just not clear. Can anyone:
a. Explain which version of Kontakt is necessary to use with Receptor as of 1/1/07
b. Give me any advice on how to properly load Scarbee VKC instruments into Kontakt

Did you apply the updates from the Scarbee support page before copying the files over to the Receptor?
If so, that's your problem; those files are updated for Kontakt 2.2 which is incompatible with the version supported on the Receptor. I did the update and got the same error messages as you. I recopied the older instrument versions from the DVD (not the sample files) after which everything worked great on the Receptor.
BTW, you might consider using VKFX with VKC, it brings out a lot of nuance in the samples and I was surprised at how nice it sounded.

at first i wasn't clear on what you meant here because i was looking for answers with specifics about versions... but i figured out what you meant by older instrument versions (the Kontakt 1.5 versions) and now everything loads fine... thanks a lot.
I have the halion version of KGB. Do you think the halion version of VKFX will load into Kontakt?
