Receptor not saving crossover settings?!

just got my new receptor pro today and can't for the life of me get it to talk to my computer (so i can register some software).

went out and got a new crossover cable and connected it...when trying to set the receptor to crossover mode, it refuses to save the setting and jumps back to auto. i've tried to "trick" the box and turn it off when it does decide to say crossover for a second, but on reboot, it's back to auto. other note: appletalk got disabled (not that i need it) and won't turn back on either no matter what i do.

any ideas?! it's "brand new" with os 1.5 on it. gone thru the manuals...tried searching online...nothing works so far.

thanks for any input!

Is this through the graphical interface (monitor and keyboard plugged into receptor) or through the knobs on the front panel? ...and if you haven't tried one of these options, it might be worth a shot. For instance, mine would not let me change the appletalk setting through the graphical interface, it just wouldn't save the setting...but it let me change it through the front panel.

yeah...tried both the front panel AND the graphical interface each numerous times. each time the same thing...just jumps back to the settings it wants.

also on the graphical interface there's nothing in the name area or workgroup area...tho there is when i use the front panel...is that normal?

You need to have an active connection for the settings to persist. Try connecting it to your PC (set for dhcp), change the setting on the receptor to crossover, then boot both machines.
