Just realized Zebra 2 has scroll wheel support. Fantastic!

Post

Yeah, i just realised that a few days ago as well! Good bye, flimsy mouse movements!

I can confirm it's a fantastic support !!!

Yep, I particularly like that, especially for preset and rack scrolling, in addition to knobs etc.

(It's one of the reason why it bugs me when Spectrasonics say they can't implement scroll wheel support in Stylus RMX because there's no way of doing it properly... :uhuhuh: )

I guess that's because Spectrasonics is sort of "borrowing" their interfaces.

How do you mean? Stylus RMX is developed entirely in-house...

Hm, I always thought they licensed the interface from someone else. Maybe that was only valid for older versions?

Stylus (original version), Atmosphere and Trilogy use the UVI engine licensed from another company.

Stylus RMX (a completely different instrument to the original Stylus) was built completely in-house (chiefly by Glenn of "Crystal" frame) from the group up, as will all future Spectrasonics products...

Stylus RMX (at least the AU version) does indeed support the scroll wheel in certain parts (but not all) of the interface..... not sure about the VST version, but I don't think it does...

All plugins should do this, IMO.. so should all DAWs (Cubase does, Live and Logic don't, AFAIK).... I mean, it makes huge sense to be able to 'scroll-wheel' your faders and pan knobs, eh?

So yes, thank you Urs for making this work in the ever-fab Zebra.... I'm loving it...... (although I do occasionally *mistakenly* scroll a setting instead of the rack, but that's just me getting used to things)... ;)

peace,

Defenitely. In Logic, at least the plugins support scrollwheels, but it's not as clever as in Zebra, as you have to click on the knob/fader you want to tweak first.

I'd really love to see the same smart Zebra scrollwheel behaviour for faders, pan pots and whatever.

I'd just want to be able to use the scroll wheel in the browser windows - you know, the huge lists with big SCROLL bars in them... ;)

Logic also supports the scroll wheel for plugin parameters as well...

Hehe, I didn't realize that it's there, either - at least not for the knobs.

Now, let's not even talk about those menus! I am pretty much ready to pull my chainsaw out!
Absolutely OT, but: Under Logic/Win, if you had more items in a menu than what would fit on your screen height, there would be nice collumns automatically! Most often, there even was no need to scroll at all, let alone using the tiny little arrows on the bottom/top.
And also don't get me started on the socalled, absolutely f**ked up "pro" application menus. They're good enough to make me feel half blinded on the Macbook and they don't even remember their last position, so they will ALWAYS open centered on the main monitor. Ergonomics my ass, really...

Hold on, you *were* talking about Logic, weren't you?

No - the library browser in Stylus RMX...
It's similar to Zebra2's preset browser - just without the scroll wheel support... :x
