Multi-timbral MIDI control using Receptor

I thought I read about this in the manual somewhere but now I can't find it. Can I run one instance of a multi-timbral plug but use a different channel to access different timbres without reinstantiation the plug again? So, if I am running Kontakt 2 on Receptor Channel 1 but have two intruments loaded, one of which is responding to MIDI Ch1 and the other to MIDI Ch2, how do I play the instrument responding to MIDI Ch2 using a different controller connected to Receptor which is transmitting on MIDI Ch2?
Probably a very basic question but I forgot and can't seem to figure it out.
Thanks!!

Hi Todd,
Yes you can. I have done this with both Kontakt2 and with Stylus RMX. Of course, you will chew up outputs this way, reducing what is available for other plugs. If you are laying out your tracks for mastering in a DAW, this is the way to go.

I think the answer you are looking for is setting the instrument channel to 'all' in midi listen and 'thru' for midi play.

DEpending on the entire setup, I use both methods. I have Colossus set to ALl/Thru with Piano, Piano up and octave and limited to the lpower half of the keyboard, acoustic bass and an electric bass on different channels of the same multi patch. I also have Lounge Lizard instanciated 3 tmes-once for channel 3 playing the full instrumet, again on ch 4 and again on ch 5 up an octave and limited range for lower electric piano over FM7 and MinimogueVA. THose have to be dedicated, because ALL will also get the acoustiv piano tracks.
Instruments that must respond to patch change go in the matching plug channel (electric piano is in slot three, midi channel 3, and responds to patch change. The pianos for ch 4 and 5 and in 7 and 8, and do not change patch, but the synths in slot 4/channel 4 and slot 5/channel 5 will change patch, without changing the piano underneath.
This requires ignore Bank Select and send midi to Sources. Works great...

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but am having no luck with getting decent vibrato with Collossus voices. I play live, and orchestral trumpets,eg,doesn't cut it.

Thanks to everyone who replied. It looks like I got it working. The item I was missing was setting "Thru" for MIDI play. What exactly does that do?
