Some crackles with some "transmission" presets....

Hi all,


But I experiment some crackles when playing some presets
-I mainly play with basses for the moment and i don t have the presets names but i m pretty sure there are some bugs with the preset named "MAKES GOOD BASS".

It also happens on some resets whem playing with the modwheel

I just want to know if some of U have experimented the same issues?


the Transmission soundset is a good one though

Hi cwar - are the crackles you are experiencing related to processor usage (ie your CPU meter is very high), high output volumes (your Zebra channel or main outputs are clipping) or audio interface buffer settings being too small? (causing dropouts).

I don't get any problems here with that particular patch, or using the mod wheel to modulate on any of the patches (at least on the Mac version of Zebra), and I haven't heard of any other reports of this issue from any one else as yet.

Could it be short envelope times leading to clicks on attack/release? Fast envelopes on bass patches can get a little clicky.

Same problem here but sometimes cuts out all together and transmition only works when i select a factory preset then back to transmition!

On the patch mentioned, or on different patches?

There is one known bug in Zebra, related to the MSEG that gives problems like these, and Urs is working on that. It's not a problem with the patch as such, just Zebra's handling of some settings, and it only AFAIK exists on the PC version, and I suspect that is what you are talking about - hopefully it will be fixed soon.

But this has nothing to do with the issue the OP has with the patch mentioned, which without any further information I suspect is more down to general CPU/buffer/overload things happening on his computer, as that patch is not particularly CPU heavy, not very loud, and is generally fairly modest (a couple of oscillators and a filter, some EQ, nothing out of the oridinary or heavy going on at all.)

Thanks for answering me.

What I will do is trying what u ask me to do and I ll tell what in a few days but I pretty sure it has nothing to do with CPU overload, maybe buffer size or output volumes.

Ok, cool. That patch does not have a particularly high output volume either, so make sure you haven't turned your output channel or master outputs way up and are distorting something without realising it.
