Couldn't open Recording...

Hi Luna users,
I have a CM Music 1.2 luna version. Whenever I try to record audio parts, I get a "Couldn't open Recording-YYYYMMDD-HHMMSS.wav" message box. This happens immediately after I press space bar to stop the audio recording.
Recording audio works just fine on my laptop. The only thing I can blame is the fact the desktop is set-up a little bit unusual: I have two WinXP instances and serveral partitions on it. All the music stuff (including CM Music) is set with an WinXP instance on drive E.
Could this be an issue? Does anyone got this message? Any solutions?
Thank you.

I don't understand your version number. IIRC, the program distributed on the CM DVD is CMusic, v1.5. LUNA is currently at PR8.4. So, it's hard to know what program you're actually using.
I wouldn't think the partitioning would matter unless the default paths for things are somehow nonsensical.
Have you tried searching your disks for "Recording-YYYYMMDD-HHMMSS.wav" (presumably filling in the date & time data) to see where the file ended up?

On one of the first prereleases, I had the same issue with Luna residing on one partition while my data was being saved on another. Only by putting the save file right in the folder with the Luna engine would it save recordings, otherwise the same error message you get would come up. (But, for instance, recording a line over the original Luna Bach sample and saving in that folder still worked.) Jo tracked this down and long since fixed this "addressing" problem many prereleases ago. If you download the new Luna free 8.4, recording with the multipartition setup likely will work. (not to mention a host of other options not on 1.2)

@DaveL60 - The version I got comes from the 103rd CM Music Issue (that's last summer / August). I know it's an old version but i didn't want to give up the number of 8 VSTi's available in exchange to the newer one but with just 4 VSTi's.
@guitarfrodo - Did the search and voila found the files right under my nose, err... "CMusic 1.2 PC\Audio" folder! I believe that if I choose this folder for saving the projects I won't get any more trouble.
Still you guys tempted me enough to try the new version!
Thanks again for the support. I do believe Luna is a great app through it's clean and simple interface, leaving more space to creativity than twisting one's mind with complex settings, patching, etc.

Understood, although those of us who started w/4-track cassette units might say "that's what track bouncing is for!"djangors wrote:@DaveL60 - The version I got comes from the 103rd CM Music Issue (that's last summer / August). Glad you solved your problem.

Agree with DaveL60, grab the demo update and use it for your recording and all its other features, bounce it to audio and load that to your cm version if you then want to add multiple vsti, effects. Or... spring for the low introductory unlimited version to support a hard working, creative developer with an inpiring product if the pr8.4 catches your fancy. Besides the progressive functionality for music making its a plain bargain being allowed to be part of the evolution of a product of this calibre. (unsolicited ad)
