Z2: How can I split a stereo image?

I've been messing around with Zebra2 and I'm trying to figure out a way to split the master left and right stereo image to manipulate them separately. Ideally I'd like to be able to send all of the left channel to Send1 and all of the right channel to Send2.

One simple example would be to apply volume oscillation at different rates to both the left and right master channel.

I've tried using the Mix modules, but from what I can tell, those mix two stereo feeds into one master output.

Any ideas?

oooph... that's a very special case here, innit?

You can use the Mix Modules. When you Balance L-R at extreme settings ( use [Bal L-R] rather than [Pan L-R] ), you get just left side on Send1 and just right side on Send2.

For the modulation, use the ModMatrix on Return1 and Return2.

(I hope using the ModMatrix on Returns is fixed already? Or is that just my version?)

I'm not sure what bug you found with Returns/Master in the modmatrix, but I've found a weird one.

Setup: OS X 10.4.10, AU Lab, latest Z2

In the modmatrix, if I set a target to ZMas: [Return1/Return2/Master] and use a MIDI Modulator (modwheel or aftertouch) the modulation stays latched at the high point and never goes back down.

For example:

Target: Zmas: Return1, Modulator: ModWhl set to 30.00
Return1 set to 0.00, Send1 set to 100.00, Master set to 0.00

If I hit a key, no sound comes out (what I'd expect). As I open the modwheel the sound comes out. Now, if I close the modwheel again, sound keeps coming out. The only way to get it to "reset" is to re-force Return1 back to 0.00 (sweep up, sweep down).

This isn't the case for something like LFO2 though. Even stranger, it also fails using MSEGs similar to the midi input.

If this is the bug you've mentioned; great. If not, I can upload a patch for you to see what I mean.

(as a side note, would it be possible to use ArpMod1 and ArpMod2 as modulation sources w/o enabling the Arp itself? Kinda like the 2 step sequencers found in Filterscape).

Sorry, that's the bug... it's fixed here... will be available soon...

Letting the arpeggiator run free is an idea that has often been requested... it's not high priority on the to-do list, but I'll check it out once I can...

Later,

;) Urs
