I've just bought & crossgraded z3ta+. The Receptorized installer works fine but hasn't been updated in 3 years so I've been playing with the 1.5.3 update. It actually installs and works under Wine on my Ubuntu Studio PC. There's no sound due to no ASIO drivers but it seems stable enough. It doesn't install on Receptors' Wine though, it hangs and then pops up a bunch of errors when I Ctrl+C.

I assume the errors are down to the age/configuration of the Wine built in to Receptor, and when Muse update it the install will go okay. In the meantime, has anyone else tried installing the z3ta+ update? There are some improvements but I really want to use it without the iLok. Authorization with the serial was fine on Ubuntu and I want to stop using that flimsy dongle if I can.

Possible solutions (backing up /c and preferably the whole drive first, of course):

1. Replace the DLLs in the Receptorized install with the updated ones. The Receptor seems to detect changed files and disables the plug, probably to prevent cracked versions being installed.

2. Uninstall the Receptorized version, copy the DLLs to 'Unsupported Plugins' and copy over the Serial # from the registry.

3. Temporarily replace the Receptor's Wine with one that will install the plugin. Almost certainly won't work and probably mess up your /c, but maybe someone knows if it can be done.

I should state that I'm generally happy with my Receptor purchase and with z3ta+ in particular as the purchase/crossgrade process took less than an hour. Hopefully soon we'll be able to run VST setups directly rather than mess around in the OS, and Receptor will take a huge leap forward.
